What is Body Fat Percentage?

So I am assuming by now you heard this phrase when you went to get that free assessment at the gym, or if you have no idea what I am talking about read on.

Body Fat Percentage is the new craze in the Fitness world. Instead of using just your weight to measure your physical status, body fat percentage is most important. The main reason behind this shift is the fact that the weight on a scale doesn’t take into account body composition. You can be really fit, and the scale can still measure you as if your “overweight”. This is the reason why many fitness professionals say to not look at the weight, but instead check your body fat percentage.

Basically the lower the percentage the less fat is in your body. Now many struggle to find motivation to keep going to the gym, because they keep stepping on that forbidden scale.

Instead set yourself some small goals I am going to be honest I started with something as simple as being able to jog on the treadmill for 15min before I even dared to make lunges.

Try getting an assessment at your local gym most of the time gyms offer free training sessions take advantage of one and get all of your stats including body fat percentage. That way later on you can get it checked again and see your fitness progress.
